SA-REGION 1
Northern South Australia
Stephanie Tustin has been around horses and riding since she was 4 years old with a passion for the wideling horses. Steph hails from Wales where she has previously owned Fell ponies, Connemaras, Anglo Arabs, Irish Drafts and since coming to Australia has owned Morgans, TBs, STBs and arab derivatives.
This has given her a broad knowledge on the various back shapes and requirements of each. Steph holds a National Diploma in Equine Management and has also completed a leather work course where she learnt how to make bridles and belts.
She has worked in Hunt yards, a sale yard and riding schools where she taught children riding and caring for horses.
Steph moved to Australia in 2014 after having travelled here in 2012 and has worked in the hay industry and studied viticulture leading to a passion about hooves and nutrition including land management. She also worked at Longreach on a cattle station where she worked and trained polo crosse horses.
With a riding background in cross country, show jumping, showing and hunting Steph has experience in a wide range of equine pursuits. Her thoroughbred mare, Diva, took her down the path of saddle fitting and Steph is now pursuing her Qualified Saddle Fitter certification with the UK Society of Master Saddlers under the mentorship of renowned saddle fitter, Paula Jeffery.
She is also undertaking the Equinology Equine Biomechanics course to fully understand how the horse’s body works which will be a big asset in her saddle fitting.
Steph is now servicing the northern South Australia region including the Clare Valley and Yorke Peninsula which are areas that have previously struggled to provide regular saddle fitting appointments. She is looking forward to getting out there and meeting all the wonderful horse owners in her region!
