Gaylene Padman

TAS - Region 1

Northern Tasmania

Gaylene Padman graduated from the British Columbia College of Equine Massage Therapy, Canada, in 2000, and has been massaging horses in Tasmania since 2006. She grew up trail riding at a young age in the Canadian Rockies, learned how to pack horses, then guiding up to 8 day pack trips, and managed a dressage training center for 4 years. Once moving to Tasmania, she joined Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemen's, High Country Trail Riding, adult riding club, trail riding, and enjoyed endurance for several years as well.

She currently competes in the National Cowboy Challenge Association (NCCA) with her 16 yo Shire x Standardbred mare, Kelsey, and was been invited to Equitana last year to compete in the NCCA Open Showcase. She also competes in reining (TasRHA} and is introducing her 11 yo OTTB gelding, Freddy, to the discipline.

Gaylene is excited to add saddle fitting to her career in the health and welfare of horses and is working towards her Society of Master Saddlers Qualification under the mentorship of Paula Jeffery. Her 25 years experience as an equine massage therapist has given her an understanding of the importance of a well fitting saddle and she has a passion for keeping horses healthy, comfortable and performing at their very best.
