Tara is a BHS trained coach, Advanced dressage rider and runs an agistment centre on the Mid North Coast, NSW. She gained a passion for horses from a very young age and started riding at 4 years old. She finally received her first horse for her 10th birthday, an unbroken 3 year old mare called Misty. With help from a family member who was a horse trainer, she started and trained Misty who went on to win state Pony Club titles and had a successful show career.
Tara has enjoyed success in the show ring as a competitor and judge as well as training and competing advanced level dressage in the UK and Australia and plans to compete at Grand Prix level. Tara lived in the UK with her husband for almost a decade where she trained with the BHS. Today she runs a successful Agistment Centre where she also enjoys being a coach and breeding and training her own horses.
Tara’s interest in Equitation Science, Rider and Horse Biomechanics and the importance of correct saddle fit to ensure horses perform at their best, has lead her on the journey to become a saddle fitter. Heading overseas in June 2022 with the rest of the team she trained with some of our Italian and English manufacturers and successfully completed her Society of Master Saddlers flocking course and exams. Tara continues to work under guidance and mentorship of Paula Jeffery, founder of Performance Saddlefits, with the aim to become a SMS qualified saddle fitter. She is looking forward to assisting and educating horse owners from all disciplines to find a saddle solution for both the horse and rider.
